Leveraging Your Degree Audit to Improve Student RetentionMary Herrington-Perry, PhD, Assistant Vice President for Acadmeic Affairs at Eastern Illinois University will be presenting her session from the 2011 CollegeSource Users Conference as a free webinar.
Only two-thirds of all first-year students in the U.S. return to college their second year. A 67% retention rate is not good enough–not for our students, for us, or for the federal government, who continues to pressure us to improve both retention and degree completion rates.
But at a time when we’re also seeing more competition for students, less financial support from the state, and more and more students who are underprepared for college, few of us can afford to direct new resources to maintain, let alone improve, our retention rates. Thus, this presentation will explore ways to use an existing resource, the degree audit, to identify, motivate, and ultimately improve the retention of at-risk students.
The webinar will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 2:00 PM EST
